This car has all the power and handling you can expect for a so called station wagon..v8 all wheel drive 345 HP and all the Cadillac luxury..but with all those bells and whistles you have more stuff to break and quit working and nickel and dime you to death over time..mechanically it was great but over time the the rear power seats ,the moon roof ,the navigation etc etc kept going bad and quit working..but very dependable and reliable even with almost 200k i would still drive it any where..I'm just sick of fixing the little things - 5.0

I'm older & retired so I wanted something easier to get in/out of but didn't want a full size SUV. Saw an SRX on the freeway and thought humm, why not? Hit the net found a Cadillac forum and started my research. Most owners had favorable comments. So I studied the SRX problem areas and knew what to look for. I started my search in Southern California and found a low mileage '09 with the Northstar V8...bingo! After a few weeks of dickering it was mine. The car has 71,000 miles, physically in good condition but in need of mechanical attention. I replaced the entire suspension, brake rotors/pads, tires and battery...roughly $5k in costs. Wow, it was like night & day! Then a few weeks later the dreaded Northstar oil leak. Because of the engine design the fix requires engine removal at a cost of about $3,500. My fix is a drip pan in the driveway. But, I love this thing and plan to keep it till it blows. Recently drove from California to Indiana with the rear seats folded & the cargo area full of stuff. It didn't miss a beat. It's a champ hauling garden stuff and furniture too.
